Watershed Modeling System which includes HEC-1, TR-20, Rational Method, and NFF is a state-of-the-art computer program which utilizes digital terrain data to delineate watershed and sub-basin boundaries and compute geometric parameters used in hydrologic modeling. Watershed Modeling System with HEC-1 includes tools which aid in the creation of both rural and urban watersheds with interfaces to hydrologic modeling software.

Watershed Modeling System with HEC-1 models are created from triangulated irregular networks (TINs). TINs are easily created within Watershed Modeling System with HEC-1 using digital elevation sources such as the USGS digital elevation models (DEMs), grids exported from common GIS software, or any set of scattered xyz data.

Watershed Modeling System Interfaces

HEC-1, developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is designed to simulate the surface runoff response of a river basin to precipitation by representing the basin as an interconnected system of hydrologic and hydraulic components.
